St. George Office of Jones Waldo Celebrates 30-Year Anniversary

 Jones Waldo, one of Utah’s most prestigious and pioneering law firms, is celebrating 30 years of serving clients from its St. George Office. Founded in June 1980 by former Utah Governor Calvin Rampton and Tim Anderson, the St. George office of Jones Waldo has seven attorneys, five staff and one paralegal. As the oldest law firm in St. George, it offers a full spectrum of legal services to clients in southern Utah, southern Nevada and California.

The St. George office provides a wide range of legal services, with emphasis on general corporate and transactional matters, commercial real estate, family and domestic law, estate planning, and international law. Beyond these general categories, the firm’s St. George attorneys also have expertise with intellectual property rights, public finance, banking, corporate trust, litigation, employment, securities, entertainment law and taxation.

Additionally, the St. George office has become a hub for international projects involving organizations in Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South America, as a major part of the firm’s international law and intellectual property practice groups are based in the St. George office. In addition, Tim Anderson has been instrumental in forming a correspondent relationship for cross-border transactions involving China with the Minnesota-based law firm Faegre & Benson.

The St. George office has been involved in dozens of community and infrastructure projects, including bond work for the Quail Creek Dam in the mid-1980s and various shopping centers and commercial projects throughout the St. George area.

The office preserved local road rights in Kane County, resolved the future of a major ski resort in the mountains of Iron County, and handled all aspects of residential, golf course and recreational development for many clients.

The St. George office is committed to enhancing to the community, having sponsored the luncheon at the annual Washington County Economic Summit for the past five years. Many attorneys provide leadership and volunteer their time on local boards and committees, such as the Washington Economic Development Council, the St. George Chamber of Commerce, the National Advisory Council for Dixie College, the Dixie College Foundation, CREW Utah, the Kiwanis Club of St. George, the Southern Utah Community Legal Center and Wills For Heroes.
