The
2009 Annual Recognition Awards have been profiled to emphasize the
unique mission of the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce and its
advocacy of strengthening the role of businesses in our community.
Seven awards will be presented at our annual Installation Banquet
scheduled for January 30, 2010 at the Dixie State College
Gardner Center Ballroom.
Please help us assure that these non-gender-specific awards reflect significant achievements during 2009 by businessmen and women of Washington County. Nominate one (1) or more in each of the following categories:
Executive of the Year
- Honoring a person who has demonstrated efforts to improve the image
and quality of life in the St. George area, innovation and competence
in his/her respective position and has served as a leadership role
model in business and the community. Additionally,
the executive must have been employed in his/her present position for
at least one (1) year, and his/her business must be a member of the St.
George Area Chamber of Commerce.
Entrepreneur of the Year - Honoring
a person who has demonstrated excellence in one or more of the
following areas: product development and service, innovative
management, community commitment, financial success and creative
marketing. Additionally, his/her business must be located in the St.
George area, must have been in operation for at least one (1) year and
must be a member of the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce.
Community-Business Partnership - Honoring
a St. George business that has a record of giving back to the community
whether it is a financial commitment in support of local charities
civic, causes, community projects or activities or volunteering time
and resources. They must be a current member of the St. George Area
Chamber of Commerce.
Community Service Volunteer - Honoring
a St. George area resident who has a record of giving back to the
community, whether it is volunteering time or financial support. They
must be employed full-time.
Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year
- Honoring a person who is a majority owner and operates, or bears
principal responsibility for operating a small business within the St.
George area. This person must have demonstrated excellence in one or
more of the following: sales and profits, employment opportunities
created by the person’s business, development and/or utilization
of innovative or creative business plan or methods, entrepreneurial
potential necessary for long-term business success and economic growth.
Special Recognition/Lifetime Achievement
- Recognizing a person or business that has made a truly significant
contribution to the St. George area and a lasting mark on improving the
quality of life in our community.
Business Integrity Award -
The Dixie State College Institute for Business Integrity and the St.
George Area Chamber of Commerce invite you to nominate a business
person, or business which exemplifies integrity in their business
dealings with their employees, customers, vendors, and the community.
Nominations should include examples of their ethical behavior in these
areas if possible.
Please
submit nominations by completing the official ballot and mailing or
faxing it by November 20, 2009 to the St. George Area Chamber of
Commerce.
