Save at Hummel's Automotive Diagnostic & Repair
This is the time of year that the staff at Hummel's Automotive Diagnostic & Repair refer to as "Chamber of Commerce Weather." It's the type of weather that St. Georgians brag about to the rest of the state. When they are suffering through the real wild swings of temperature, St. George is having just the greatest of weather. It makes you glad that you live in Dixie!
Even though the weather usually is great, winter is on it's way and that means that a few things need to be checked on your car. Do you have enough antifreeze in your car? Even though the temperatures are not the "extreme cold" that can do damage to an engine, it can happen. Make sure your coolant is the proper mix of water and antifreeze. It will also help prevent overheating. Just like you and your family, it needs to be ready for winter.
How about tire pressure? Starting in 2008 all cars have to be equipped with tire pressure monitoring systems. In cool weather, your monitoring system may turn the warning light on first thing in the morning. Make sure your tires are properly inflated.
Check your oil and make sure it is of the proper grade and that the service interval is correct. New cars are critical on oil quality and service intervals.
It's time to give your car a little tender loving care! If you do it will be more likely to start and run well for you when the weather turns cold and all you want is get to your nice warm home.
