Second Annual International Festival Announced

The Huntsman World Senior Games is pleased to announce the second annual International Festival, 4 until 7 pm on the campus of Dixie State College, October 13, 2009.

“We were very pleased with last year’s festival for a first-time event,” said Kyle Case Huntsman World Senior Games CEO. “We had several hundred people that attended and seemed to be enjoying themselves very much.”

The goal is for the festival to be a family/community event. To better accomplish that goal, the festival committee has tweaked and fine-tuned the format. The International Festival is now focusing on cultural education. The idea is that businesses from the community will adopt a country and provide attendees with an educational experience focused on that country.

“Our hope is that families will come to the festival and gain greater insights and understandings of other cultures. I envision children leaving the various country booths with something in hand to remind them of that country’s cultures,” said Case. “We see this becoming  great celebration of our world and its people.”

With a vision of cultural education the Games International Festival Committee has teamed up with the Foundation for Students of Washington County to accomplish this goal. Students will be encouraged to attend and participate with an personal Event Passport sending them home with new insight into the world in which we live.

Admission to the festival is free. In addition to country booths, there will be food booths and entertainment. Businesses interested in participating in the International Festival or individuals looking for more information can call the Huntsman World Senior Games office at 435-674-0550 and ask for Jeff Harding.
