Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Screenings to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Zion National Park
The SLC Film Center announced details for two outdoor screenings of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in Southern Utah. The events, co-hosted by Utah House Speaker David Clark and the Office of St. George Mayor Dan McArthur, celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Zion National Park and the 40th Anniversary of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, which was filmed in Grafton and Zion National Park. The October 2 screening will be held in the St. George Town Square (Please bring a blanket or chair!). The screening on October 3 will be held in the O.C. Tanner Amphitheater. Both screenings will start at dusk (approximately 7:15 pm) and are free and open to the public. For more information visit slcfilmcenter.org.
The screenings are sponsored by: O.C. Tanner, Utah Film Commission, Utah Office of Tourism, and the City of St. George. Additional support for the screening from Z-Arts! and Zion Canyon Field Institute.
The Oscar-winning Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is the quintessential buddy film. Legendary outlaws Butch Cassidy (Paul Newman) and the Sundance Kid (Robert Redford) display perfect comedic timing and charisma as they pull off heist after heist in this film from director George Roy Hill. Filmed in Grafton Utah and Zion National Park.
