SouthWest Federal Credit Union Sponsors United Way Golf Ball Drop at Washington County Fair

SouthWest Federal Credit Union has teamed up with United Way Dixie to sponsor the Second Annual Golf Ball Drop at the Washington County Fair.

At 5:00 pm on August 15 at The Fair, some 3,000 numbered golf balls will be dropped from a boom truck above a putting green. Whoever purchased the numbered ball that goes in the hole first, or comes closest to it, will win $1,000 from SouthWest Federal Credit Union. Additional prizes, ranging in value from $10 to $400 will also be awarded.

"United Way is just as dedicated to the community as we are, so we saw this as a great opportunity to give back in a very positive way," said SouthWest Federal President and CEO Muriel Blake. "Knowing that the money raised will directly help the individuals who need it most makes sponsoring this event that much more rewarding."

Golf balls are available for purchase at any SouthWest Federal branch location in St. George, Hurricane, Cedar City or Mesquite. The cost is $5 per ball or $20 for five balls. All money raised will be donated to United Way Dixie in support of their 12 non-profit partner agencies.

Through those 12 non-profit agencies, United Way supports 35 programs that help in the area of education, basic needs, financial stability and health. United Way Dixie is committed to improving lives through the dedicated time and talent of volunteers working to achieve measurable outcomes in our community. Established in 1994, United Way Dixie has raised more than $1.8 million, all of which has supported local 501 C-3 non-profit agencies in the St.George community.

SouthWest Federal is the only locally administered and longest serving credit union in Southern Utah. Serving the five-county area of Southwest Utah, plus Mesquite, Nevada and Northwest Arizona, SouthWest Federal Credit Union was established in St. George in 1937.
