THIS Thursday - Art Conversation at 7:00 pm - "From Pale to Brilliant: Photography of the West"
The St. George Art Museum will host their next monthly third Thursday Art Conversation on July 16th at 7:00 pm with guest artist and speaker, Steve Mohlenkamp.
Steve Mohlenkamp is a self-taught commercial photographer based in Denver, Colorado, with an emphasis on “showing up and getting the shot”. Although he is proficient in the studio, his passion lies in location photography, especially landscape, and thus, a marked propensity for editorial and extensive outdoor work.
Steve Mohlenkamp Photography has now done uninterrupted business in Denver for twenty-one years, after four years in the Chicago area. Positions previous to operating Steve Mohlenkamp Photography for the last twenty-five years total, include graphic designer, Advertising Manager, and magazine Photography Director. And before that, Steve has report cards from school with remarks about his constant hiding behind his books while drawing, so it really all represents a lifetime dedicated to one thing.
Steve’s vast experience in shooting anything from products to people, lifestyle to landscapes, and wheels to architecture, have produced a large, and growing, clientele. They include: Sunset Magazine; Kenwood Audio, USA; Jones Lang LaSalle; Nikon World Magazine; The Ford Motor Company, Detroit; No Fear; Hunter Douglas; Chrysler, Detroit; Anheuser Busch, Milwaukee; Car & Driver Magazine.
Daily hours are Monday-Saturday 10-5pm, except 3rd Thursdays until 9pm. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children 3-11, and under age 3 are free. Museum Members also receive free admission.
