Longest drive… straightest drive…drive…drive…drive…it’s time once again to join Intermountain Health Care on the golf course for the 12th annual Jubilee Cup Charity Golf Tournament. Chairman Kurt Johnson is reminding golfers that Dixie Regional Medical Center has hit its drive to launch Life Flight helicopter services in southern Utah and we need your help in reaching our strategic goal.
Because critical illness or injury can strike anyone at any time—or anywhere—a locally based Life Flight helicopter will greatly speed the delivery of lifesaving care. Emergency access to remote areas will be greatly enhanced. From those in the sunset of their lives to tiny newborns just opening their eyes for the first time, everyone will benefit because time saved means lives saved—giving the best chance for survival, recovery and a healthy future.
In support of this goal, Jacobsen Construction - tournament sponsor, Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club and The Ledges Golf Club have made significant contributions to make the 12th Annual charity tournament an outstanding success. Participants will play Entrada on Thursday, June 4, 2009 and The Ledges on Friday, June 5, 2009.
The editors of Golf Digest recently rated the golf course at Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club the top ranked year round golf course in Utah. Designed by Johnny Miller and Fred Bliss, this course is a par 71 covering 7,059 yards and features an impressive practice facility as well as PGA pro golf instruction. Johnny Miller states, “The varied terrain at Entrada covers nearly 2000 acres of beautiful southern Utah desert, and the golf course winds through large arroyos, black lava beds and rolling dunes at the foot of the jagged Navajo and Kayenta red sandstone cliffs marking the ancient history of this Navajo landscape. Its black lava beds surrounding holes 15-17 on the golf course are seen only at Entrada and in Hawaii.”
Due to its remarkably high-caliber, innovative design by Matt Dye and its unmatched setting in the rugged landscape of Southern Utah, The Ledges’ championship 7,200-yard golf course is making headlines. The course’s grand backdrop is Snow Canyon State Park where rugged rocks of red and white sandstone stretch high above the desert floor creating the perfect setting for golf. The course was recently ranked fifth on Golf Digest’s America’s Best New Golf Courses and took home the Best Outlying Course award from Vegas Golfer in 2007.
The Ledges will be host to The Evening on the Green event for golfers and guests on Friday, the 5th of June, at 6:00 pm. This will be a breath-taking evening of entertainment and dining nestled amid the splendor of Southern Utah's Color Country.
“There’s nothing better than a great day of golf that is supporting a worthy cause,” Chairman Johnson concludes. “ It’s truly a community effort to make this happen so please give us a call. We’ve taken our drive…we’re half way to par… and when that helicopter finally lands on its pad there will be the silence and then the applause. I can only compare it to the awe-inspiring accomplishment of – yes, a hole-in-one.”
