The impressive line-up of presentations begins with Congressman Jim Matheson explaining the federal stimulus package, and how it applies to local businesses. Then Speaker of the House David Clark will clarify how the stimulus dollars will be used by the legislature to support the Dixie area economy.
Director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, Jason Perry will share how Governor Huntsman will apply federal stimulus dollars and state programs under his control to strengthen our economy. Jeff Edwards, President and CEO of the Economic Development Corporation will describe how Dixie can attract more value-added jobs and high tech companies. Each of these presenters will then participate in a panel for Q&A.
The second section, beginning at 4:00 PM, will feature the ever-popular Lecia Langston, Work Force Services Regional Economist, presenting the economic facts and figures of where we are and where we are headed. She will be followed by two Small Business Alliance programs experts: Scott Davis, President of Mountain West Small Business Finance; and Len Erickson, Director of the Dixie Business Alliance Small Business Development Center. The federal stimulus included many enhancements to the SBA program; you will want to learn how they can support your business.
The last presentation will be from local government: County Commission Chairman Jin Eardley will be joined by Mayors Dan McArthur, Terrill Clove, Tom Hirsch, and Rick Rosenburg. They will provide specific details as to how local government is working to improve the lot of their business constituents. They will each participate in a panel to address your questions.
