InfoWest, Inc. Southern Utah’s first Internet Service provider recently named Cassidy Larson its new Chief Technical Officer or CTO.
Chief Technical Officer
The title Chief Technical Officer (abbreviated as CTO) is an executive position whose holder is focused on technical issues within an organization. Essentially, a CTO is responsible for the transformation of capital, be it monetary or intellectual, into technology in furtherance of the company's objectives. The title is most typically found in organizations such as InfoWest, which is constantly making significant developments in technology.
Larson began working for InfoWest over ten years ago in the early 1990’s. He started in their technical support department helping customers resolve Internet and computer related problems. Over time, Larson moved up in the company while broadening his technical skills. According to InfoWest president Kelly Nyberg, “Cassidy has shown exemplary knowledge and expertise in networking and managing the high-end systems required for InfoWest to provide quality and reliable Internet services.”
Today, Cassidy manages InfoWest’s fiber optic networks across Southern Utah, datacenters and helps support high-end clientele. He also directs the building, development and maintenance of these critical systems and networks.
As InfoWest’s Chief Technical Officer, Larson will oversee the expansion and future direction as InfoWest continues to grow and build their key technical systems.
Larson graduated Cum Laude from Dixie State College's 4-year CIT program, and has been an adjunct professor at Dixie for the past five years. He is also an avid tri-athlete and photographer. Cassidy is a native of St. George, Utah.
