The new High Speed fiber optic connection to InfoWest is not only faster, but also adds an additional level of quality and reliability for the City. InfoWest has multiple Internet connections leading out of the area, so if a fiber is cut along the I-15 corridor in the future this new fiber connection will help keep City operations up and running.
Another important aspect of this new fiber connection is the speed and efficiency it brings to the City. Fiber optics allow the transfer of data at the speed of light. Now the City can transfer files and communicate between its various departments and other organizations such as the County and the State more quickly.
