Financial Literacy Workshop Scheduled for February 26th

Understanding your finances and applying the important principles of money mastery to your life can bring you peace of mind and help you achieve your most important life goals. SouthWest Federal Credit Union is offering a Financial Literacy workshop on Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm in the training room of their administration building at 162 North 400 East.

This fast paced workshop will cover important topics such as types of credit, how to use credit, factors that affect interest rates and credit, basic budgeting skills, and goal setting and follow-through. Seating is limited to the first 25 registrants due to space restrictions. The workshop is also open to the general public. The cost to the public is $10 and includes a light dinner. Members of the credit union receive complimentary registration.

Heather Mortenson is the presenter. She is a Certified Financial Counselor and has worked in the financial industry for 7 years. Heather has a degree in Business Management from Dixie State College and is currently developing a financial counseling program for the credit union.  She has held a variety of positions at SouthWest Federal and is currently a Consumer Loan Underwriter.
