CALL FOR ENTRIES – Deadline January 16, 2009 Applications available for the St. George Art Festival

The 30th Annual St. George Art Festival will be held Easter Weekend – Friday April 10th and Saturday April 11th, 2009. The St. George Art Festival is a unique opportunity to show your work in the beautiful red rock country of Utah. St. George, a city of over 80,000 residents, is well known for its outstanding visitor amenities, warm weather and friendly hospitality.

Easter weekend is the biggest weekend of the year in St. George. Each year the Festival draws thousands of visitors from throughout the Mountain West. The St. George Art Festival is promoted on the internet, in arts & fine craft calendars, on regional radio, television, newspapers, and magazines. Our objective is to attract buyers from throughout the region.

The Friendly Festival - This is a magnificent galleria featuring different artists in every medium. Visitors come to meet the artists, make deals and create a legacy. There’s no place like St. George for Easter weekend. It has become the greatest spring art festival in the West.

Show your work in beautiful red rock country during the biggest weekend of the year. Enjoy Southern hospitality and good times. It’s Easter weekend in Utah’s Dixie and that means thousands of visitors are coming to St. George… and they come to shop!

To be juried for the 2009 St. George Art Festival, you must include the following in your packet: 1) a completed application form; 2) a $20, non-refundable fee for each category applied for; 3) five 35 mm slides or digital format (*Note digital image submission procedures on application.) – 4 of your current work of each category you wish to enter, and 1 of your booth setup which will be used at the Festival; 4) a self-addressed stamped envelope.  Applications must be delivered to the St. George Arts Center by 5:00 p.m. on January 16, 2009 (approximately 110 artists will be selected).  Send applications to: St. George Art Festival, 86 South Main St., St. George, UT 84770

Jury selection will take place in mid January with notification of acceptance or non-acceptance to be mailed to applicants after that time.  Jurors are selected by the St. George Art Festival Art Committee.  Slides belonging to applicants who are not accepted will be returned along with their notification.  Slides belonging to accepted exhibitors will be returned at the Festival.  Slides will be considered solely on the merits of the work pictured, not upon any qualifications of the applicant.

Participation in previous St. George Art Festivals does not guarantee acceptance from year to year. Booth fee is $130.00 each.  All spaces are 10’ x 11’ long.  Exhibitors may request one or two booths (double booths are limited).  No commissions are taken by the Festival.

Artists’ booths must contain at least 50% original work.
