CALL TO ACTION

The Dixie High School Fine Arts Department is looking for sponsors

With a crash of drums and a flash of light The Dixie High School Fine Arts Department is proud to stage Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Join Joseph (yes, the Joseph of the Old Testament), under the direction of DHS’ renowned drama teacher and director, Russ Saxton, as he is sold into Egypt by the eleven brothers, beginning a musical journey that runs through a kaleidoscope of song and dance, colorful constumes and colorful characters. It’s fun. It’s upbeat. It’s Technicolor! Help DHS celebrate the 40th anniversary of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s musical hit. Performances for the general public are November 6th, 7th, 8th, and 10th in the Dixie High School auditorium.

In addition to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Dixie High School will also be presenting Neil Simon’s play, The Star Spangled Girl, this Spring. As you have always come to expect from the DHS theater, these productions will be top-notch with amazing stage technique, a talented cast, a full orchestra and a talented technical crew of over 200 DHS students!

These productions are totally self supporting and require a large amount of generous funding from the community. Ticket sales alone do not cover the production expenses; between royalties, costuming, stage sets and props, musicals often cost an average of $15,000-$20,000 to present. All contributions are tax deductible and show support for the Performing Arts program at Dixie High School.

For a minimum donation of $50, your name or place of business will be listed in the program as a Contributor.  Those desiring to donate $100 or more will be listed as a Sponsor and will have their name or place of business listed in the program AND on an attractive plaque that permanently hangs in the hallway of the DHS Performing Arts Center. Donors will be listed as follows:

      •$100 -  Bronze Sponsor
      •$250 – Silver Sponsor
      •$500– Gold Sponsor
•$1000 – Platinum Sponsor (sponsorship comes with 5 performance tickets)
•$5000 or more – Corporate Sponsors (sponsorship comes with 10 performance tickets.)
(Corporate Sponsors will be given top visibility on all advertisements – please rush!)

*Donors may also request anonymity – please specify.

The Dixie High School Performing Arts Center is also continuing with their successful “Community Business” banner which will hang throughout the year in the high-traffic commons area of the DHS Performing Arts Center. This is an exceptional opportunity to advertise your particular business while at the same time showing your commitment to the Performing Arts.  Over 5,000 people are expected to attend each performance in the DHS Performing Arts Center. There will be other school and community programs, plays, and performances throughout the school year which will help to further stretch your company’s advertising dollars. This banner will list businesses that contribute $100 (IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER DONATION MADE).

If you would like to contribute to our fundraising effort, please send your contribution by Monday, October 27, 2008 payable to Dixie High School-C/O DHS Drama Department. A receipt will be sent to you. Please send all checks addressed to:
