Washington County Economic Development Council Announces Ad Hoc Committee to Support U of U/DSC Affiliation

The Washington County Economic Development Council (WCEDC) is pleased to announce the organization of an ad hoc committee charged with supporting an enhanced affiliation between Dixie State College of Utah and the University of Utah.

“We understand work for the affiliation progressed over the summer as representatives from Dixie visited other campuses with similar affiliations,” said V. Lowry Snow, WCEDC chair. “We support Dixie State in this key educational advancement.”

Snow holds a seat on the ad hoc committee which is co-chaired by David Clove and Randy Wilkinson. Other members are Terri Draper, Larry Gardner, Morris Peacock, Carol Sapp, and Vicki Wilson.

“This partnership between Dixie State and the University of Utah is of critical importance to the economic goals of our council and this region,” said Snow. He added that a fully developed affiliation would give local residents the ability to obtain a degree from a nationally recognized academic institution, greatly strengthening a student’s employability and earning power.

“We are pleased with President Stephen Nadauld’s commitment to steadily advancing this affiliation as well as his work in other ways to bring more four-year degrees to Dixie,” Snow said. “The ad hoc committee looks forward to hearing about affiliation progress at the report to DSC trustees on September 12.”
